Are you a workaholic? Do you feel like you’re always working and now you’re always tired with brain clutter and and hardly any motivation? Well superwoman. It looks like you have a case of the burnout flu. It’s going around these days and it’s highly contagious. I’ve got the super secret cure that is about to change your life.
When you see just how simple it is you’re going to say OMG! Most of us have fallen for the idea that you have to work 12-hour days, work late nights all the time, and never take a day off. Are you guilty? Well, this DOES NOT lead to more money, clarity, or clients. It just leads to burnout.
How the Burnout Starts
There is no perfect boss lady! There I said it. THERE IS NO PERFECT BOSS. This race to perfection causes you to feel that working long hours each week, being sleep deprived, and only living and breathing your business is a requirement to look like you have it all together, but you can easily forget about yourself…
Who you were before you were a business owner… The hobbies you had… The things you loved to do after work… Those fun projects you used to work on… Those friends you used to hang out with… Your husband who almost never sees you…Now you’re always working. Always on the way to a meeting. Always in planning mode. The laundry is piling up and the brain clutter is killing you.
The Secret Cure to Burnout is…
It’s time to focus on the things that’ll help you grow your business in ways you probably can’t imagine. I’m talking about the the most important thing that affects the health of your business and that’s YOU!
When is the last time you took time off for yourself?
You need to take some YOU TIME. Don’t you dare tell me you don’t deserve it because you do. I recently talked about it in the Facebook Group. Here’s the thing… I’m usually working 24/7. I’m talking nights. Weekends. Sometimes I’m burning the midnight oil until 5 AM. I’m a certified workaholic. Deep down inside we all are!
I’ve been craving an opportunity for a work-free day of hands-on creativity with my husband minus working. I took my daughter to my in-laws and had some alone time.
The results were astounding! Even though I’m sore from tons of painting and distressing, I got to hang out in hobby lobby, paint, and decorate which is a super fun outlet for me. Distressing furniture with sand paper is a huge stress reliever!
Now we know why Joanna Gaines doesn’t look so stressed all the time.
Taking a little you time doesn’t have to be a long drawn-out vacation. It can simply be one day of no work, doing something you love, catching up on sleep, or being with people you love. If you can’t take a whole day just do a half day. Go have breakfast with a friend. Go to the farmer’s market and buy fresh flowers for your home. Do something that does not have a computer, laptop, or iPhone involved.
